TYPE: “I am indebted fro this great curiosity to the kindness of the Rev. Mr. Ellis, of Rose Hill, Hoddesdon, Herts […] It is another treasure brought home from Madagascar”. According to Du Puy et al., The orchids of Madagascar / annotated checklist (1999), the type is from: Comoros, Anjouan, Lavanchie s.n. (holotype, W).
